U.S. Bank Expands ITEXs Line Of Credit To $3 Million

ITEX Corporation (OTCBB:ITEX), a leading marketplace for cashless business transactions in North America, has announced that the credit facility with its primary banking institution had been expanded to $3 million.

ITEX, the nations largest trade exchange, and U.S. Bank entered into an agreement to increase the maximum loan amount under its revolving credit facility from $2.5 million to $3 million. The interest rate of the facility is one-month LIBOR + 2%; equivalent to a current interest rate of 2.3125%.

Steven White, ITEX Chairman and CEO, noted, U.S. Bank has been a great partner over the years and we appreciate the support it has provided to help us expand our business. We are in a great position to pursue opportunities as they may arise, with access to more than $8 million in capital, which includes our existing cash reserves.

Timothy J. Flynn, Vice President of Commercial Banking for U.S. Bank, commented, We are pleased with ITEXs consistent financial performance and overall success during the last seven years. During this period, ITEX has done an exceptional job strengthening its balance sheet and demonstrating sound fiscal management. These factors, along with our positive and open communications with the ITEX management, were instrumental in approving the line of credit.

What Will Life Be Like In 10 Years?

Peter Ueberroth, former Major League Baseball Commissioner and organizer of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, recently looked into the future. His interesting observations are as follows:

Chinas economy will have more than doubled and be closing in on the United States. The reason for this is primarily poor leadership by both U.S. political parties as they ignore or attack the entrepreneurial private sector, which is the engine of our economy and jobs.

Immigration will be better in the Unites States because Canada, Mexico and the U.S., will realize theres an advantage for the three countries in North America to be working together rather than struggling separately. Each country can grow its national pride and, at the same time, they can support North America unity.

There will still be a large surplus of office space in this country. Thirty percent of the working public will be working from home or at very small workstations at their companies.

The environment will be better because current scare tactics will be replaced by real science and a universal global commitment that all citizens want to clean up after themselves for the next generation.

India will have surpassed China as the most populous country in the world Chinas one-child-per-family policy being the factor.

Independent store owners who choose to compete and implement innovative strategies really can succeed in going head-to-head with anybody.

Don Taylor, author of Up Against the WalMarts.

A successful independent retailer today sees the super-stores and chains as steamships plowing through the ocean, and themselves as the sleek race boat zipping around and through them, and changing direction on a dime!

Its a tremendous (and needed) advantage when going up against the superior resources of the giants, according to Don Taylor, author of Up Against the WalMarts: How Your Business Can Prosper in the Shadow of the Retail Giants.

More than ever, independent retailers know and understand that it is necessary to adapt to their customers. So the number one question theyre asking is: How can I better serve you?

One of the top strategies the wise retailer uses for increasing business is working with his local trade exchange, where additional sales are realized without upsetting the cash market. So its the best of both worlds.
