UC Sets Trading Records In Last Three Months

IRTA's Universal Currency has been on its new customized software system for three months, and in each month on the new system we have set an all-time trading record. Total trading for the three month period, August through October of 2015, usage was up 39% over that same period of 2014.
Trading is expected to continue to increase even more as UC members add more listings to the UC marketplace. IRTA Executive Director Ron Whitney thanks all their members for helping make the last three months the most successful in Universal Currency’s seventeen-year history!

Let's Talk About Offset In Asia, The Middle East, And Africa

ECCO's next symposium in London from18 to 19 November, brings together offset authorities and experts from various regions, and will use a case study as a basis to discuss offset business. New actors in the field of offset management will also share their views and proposals.
Experts from the following countries will also make presentations: South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, South Africa, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. The 11th ECCO (European Club for Countertrade and Offset) Symposium will be hosted at DLA Piper’s offices in London, U.K.
Forum — Wednesday 18 November
Offset authorities from the United Arab Emirates have been invited, and South Korea, Malaysia, Australia and South Africa have confirmed participation. The forum provides the opportunity to obtain up-to-date information on the countries' offset policies and regulations. The ECCO annual dinner will be held Wednesday evening, hosted by DLA Piper.
Workshop —Thursday 19 November
The director of the United Kingdom's Defense and Security Industrial Engagement Policy (DSIEP), Mr. Fabrizio Harley, will deliver the keynote address; sharing experiences in implementing the new DSIEP policy in the UK. This workshop is unique in that it will bring together a set of specialists, who will discuss a fictitious offset deal.
The expert speakers will give the audience tips and advice relating to successful negotiation. Every aspect of an offset contract will be covered: legal, insurance, technology transfer, training, localization, compliance, and types of offset. Both days will end with a round table during which delegates can air their views and ask questions, and there are enough networking breaks to discuss compliance.

This Year's Almost Over, Don’t Let Your Guard Down On Sales!

Have you decided that the stretch between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve is a poor time to close new deals? Think again. Sales don’t have to go dormant during the holidays if you follow these strategies:
→Understand the client mind-set. Even though companies on a calendar year budget may be near or at the end of their ability to spend money, think ahead. Counteract this objection by offering to defer billing for sales booked in December.
Deem December "customer appreciation month." The holidays are a fine time to check in with all your customers to say "hi," wish them a good season, and thank them for their business. Provide a small gift or scrip to valued clients — it's an excellent way to get an audience in a hectic month.
Offer discounts and barter incentives to new clients. Launch a strong offer to close new business deals before December 31, by including special pricing and barter offers. You can thus get a leg-up on the conventional thinking that December is a slow sales month.
Eye those first-quarter goals. Beyond expectations that sales will continue during December, encourage your sales personnel to use the 12th month to "pencil in" their first-quarter sales prospects — so when the world comes back to work they’ll be able to hit the ground running!
