Profits Of Small Businesses Down $2 Trillion Since Recession Hit
Market research firm Barlow Research reports that a July 2010 survey
reveals that 14% of small businesses have less than 50% confidence
that theyll be in business by August 2011.
The report says small businesses have lost an estimated $2 trillion
in profits since the recession began in December 2007. Thats an
average loss of $253,000 for each of the 8 million U.S. businesses
with sales between $100,000 and $10 million. (The report also
pointed out that job creation in the near term is not expected from
this sector.)
