Barter To Gain National
Exposure On Reality TV Show
Barternews
has been informed by the producers of the national Zanderboard forum
that a major film production company will film their upcoming 3-day
event in September. The shooting will encompass top traders from
around the country bartering their personal property, as well as
real estate, in a fast-moving environment. Subsequently, the content
will be featured on a major reality TV program later this fall.
The 3-day event will be
held September 10 thru 12, at the Alexis Park All-Suite Resort in
Las Vegas.
For more information on
the event or the filming, contact Raye Turner at 404-680-9790.
Here are ten questions
to see if you are up to the challenge of entrepreneurship.
1) Are you
willing and able to bear great financial risk?
Roughly half of all
start-ups close within five years, so you must be realistic about
the financial risks that come with a business.
2) Are you
willing to sacrifice your lifestyle for potentially many years?
If youre used to steady
paychecks, regular working hours, four weeks paid vacation and
health benefits, you may be surprised at the changes you must adapt
to.
3) Is your
significant other on board?
Dont ignore the toll
that running a business will take on your family. Honest and open
communication will lessen that stress.
4) Do you like
all aspects of running a business?
Founders are often
expected to handle everything from billing customers to hiring
employees to writing marketing materials. It can be frustrating to
spend so much time on busy work.
5) Are you
comfortable making decisions on the fly with no playbook?
There are a lot of
decisions to be made without any guidance, and you are calling all
the shots.
6) Whats your
track record of executing your ideas?
The ability to implement
ideas is one of the biggest differences between successful
entrepreneurs and everyone else. It takes drive, persuasiveness,
leadership skills and keen intuition, to turn an idea into a
lucrative business.
7) Are you
persuasive and well-spoken?
It takes strong
communication and interpersonal skills to get people (lenders,
customers, etc.) to believe in your vision as much as you do.
8) Do you have a
concept youre passionate about?
If youre not exuberant
about how youll be spending your time (or in the business concept)
running a business is going to be a rough ride.
9) Are you a
self-starter?
Entrepreneurs face lots
of discouragement. It takes willpower and an almost unwavering
optimism and tenaciousness to overcome these constant obstacles.
10) Do you have a
business partner?
Finding a business
partner who compensates for your shortcomings, and has equal
enthusiasm for the business concept, can help lessen the risks while
boosting the odds of success.

Build An Inclusive
Company Staff
Where does the
difference lie between friendly social groups and divisive cliques?
It can be hard to tell until you realize that your company has a
problem. Even though you cant change how your employees feel about
each other, there are several ways to keep the business functioning:
-
Stay neutral.
Remain objective and investigate conflicts from both sides.
Gather all the facts first, before taking action.
-
Build relationships with all individuals.
Although groups may see themselves as very different from each
other, dont let group politics distract you from getting to
know each person.
-
Keep everyone focused on the work to be done.
Talk briefly with each group or team about the need to work
together. Maybe write out procedures to follow, which assure
they must interact to succeed.
-
Try to bring cliques together.
Once you are sure that the necessary work is being done, build
on inclusive work relationships.

Change Is A Process, Not An Event Or
Destination
Psychologists say change
normally occurs when there is a cataclysmic event, a clear vision of
where the change will lead, and a positive step taken in a new
direction. It also requires an understanding that
change is a process, not an event or a
destination.
