Traveling Overseas? Heres The Best Credit Card To Use
If youve ever traveled overseas and made purchases with a credit
card you probably were stung by currency conversion fees a charge
for changing dollars into the local currency. If you want to avoid
the fees one card stands out according to the personal finance web
site Bankrate.com.
That card is Capital One Visa as they charge no fees for foreign
credit purchases, debit card purchases, and credit card cash
advances. Not only do they decline to charge their own fee, but they
eat the fee charged by the payment network.
(Most credit cards charge 3% on the amount of foreign purchases,
payment networks Visa and MasterCard both charge a 1% fee to the
bank that issued the credit card. Additionally, most banks tack on
an additional 2%.)
