Middle Class Thinks Rich
Americans Are Smarter & Greedier
Some 2,500 middle-class
Americans were recently polled by Pew Research. The condensed
findings are as follows:
Overwhelmingly they
believe the growing wealth divide is a �bad thing� for the country.
Wealthy Americans are
viewed (by their peers) as more intelligent and hardworking, and
also viewed as greedier and less honest.
Wealthy is defined as an
annual income of at least $100,000 for a family of four. Different
regions had higher figures � a median income of $150,000.
Of the poll respondents:
48% say the rich pay too
little in taxes
37% say lower-income
Americans pay too much in taxes
34% say lower-income
Americans pay their fair share
20% felt lower-income
pay too little in taxes
