Americas Future Is Bright With Unleashing Of Womens Potential

Warren Buffett is optimistic about Americas economic future, as our nations awareness of womens potential expands and accelerates. Buffett says as more and more women excel in the workforce their talent will increase Americas richness.

BigBox Stores Expand Services, Increasing Competition

Need to refinance your mortgage? Just put it on your shopping list alongside the jumbo paper towels and 6-gallon bucket of cat kibble the next time you visit Costco. Big-box stores are offering a growing number of financial services, including check cashing, reloadable pre-paid cards, small business loans and life insurance.

Ten million American households (1 in 12) dont have any checking or savings accounts, according to a 2011 survey by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. And twenty-four million households (1 in 5) have accounts but also rely on alternative financial services, such as non-bank money orders, check cashing, payday loans, tax refund loans and pawnshops.

So major retailers are developing an ever-expanding menu of financial products aimed at this underserved population, a market that generates more than $78 billion annually in fee and interest revenue.

Lend A Helping Hand To A Dedicated Barter Ambassador

By Bob Meyer

For years monetary expert Tom Greco has tirelessly been a spokesman for the use of alternative currencies, including barter. He is off on another exhaustive educating trip, where he will be making numerous presentations and providing his expertise in both workshops and consultations.

Traveling expenses quickly add up when considering the trans-Atlantic fares, accommodations, meals and other expenses to the Netherlands, Sweden, England and Greece, where Greco is headed this time around.

To help offset the considerable costs Greco has launched a Crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. (I have provided a donation and I hope you will consider doing so too.)

Those in the commercial barter industry can chip in a few dollars to provide a needed assist for his coming efforts on behalf of our industry.

Tax Deductions For Your Home-Based Business

The following is a list of tax deductions you may take for home-based businesses. You can deduct a percentage of many expenses based on how much of your home you can qualify for a home/office deduction. Here are the most typical deductions:

  • A percentage of rent, if you rent or lease.
  • A percentage of your mortgage interest, if youre buying your home.
  • A percentage of real estate taxes and homeowner association fees.
  • Household supplies and cleaning services for the business portion of your home.
  • Repair and maintenance of your home office.
  • Utilities (electricity, gas, water) attributable to the business use of your home.
  • Trash collection.
  • Furniture in your household that you convert for use in the home office.
  • Phone services, minus the base local service for the first line into your home. (Lines devoted to the Internet and faxing may be entirely deductible.)
  • Business use of your automobile from the time you leave your door.
