U.S. Sees More Millionaire-Growth Than China

China is supposed to be the worlds new millionaire machine as its economy grew 8.7% versus the U.S. growth of 2.4%. Yet the minting of millionaires (defined as those with investible assets of $1 million or more) in the U.S. grew 16% to 7.8 million. Whereas in China, the millionaire figures saw a growth of 6% to 875,000 millionaires.

Millionaire wealth in the U.S. is now more tied to the stock market than the overall economy. The U.S. stock market bounce back up more than 60% from its bottom has created better conditions for generating millionaires than in China, where their stock market grew half as fast.
